This scarecrow robot isn’t the first of its kind, but the video below shows that it’s relatively low-tech and works quite well. The video is actually a commercial from German electronics retail chain Conrad that went viral on YouTube over the last few days (particularly among Japanese users for some weird reason).

Conrad wants to show how it easy it is to build a robot (“Die Vogelscheuche der Zukunft” means “The scarecrow of the future”) using their parts. At the end, the robot exclaims “Achtung, Achtung, bitte fliegen Sie weiter!”, which translates to “Attention, attention, please fly away!”.
