Oh, so you thought last year’s 4.3″ displays, like the ones in the HTC Evo or the Motorola Droid X, were big enough? Oh hoh hoh, friend — say hello to the just-announced Samsung Infuse 4G for AT&T, which packs a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus display.

Here’s everything we know so far:

  • 1.2 Ghz Hummingbird Processor
  • 4.5″, Super AMOLED Plus (The second generation of Samsung’s Super AMOLED tech) display
  • Android 2.2 (Running Samsung’s custom TouchWiz UI)
  • 8 megapixel rear camera, with a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera

Do smartphones need to get any bigger? Probably not. But as the megapixel race of the last decade, people pay for bigger.. even if it’s not necessarily better.
