We knew the next-gen Kindle was coming, and spied the official pics early, but it is now official complete with a 20% faster operation and text to speech. The second version is a tad slimmer and overall more compact than its predecessor with a thickness of only .36-inches. Amazon tell us that the screen is better suited for reading too with a higher-quality OLED screen that now displays 16 shades of gray.

Battery life and storage have been improved with 25% longer life (2 weeks of reading) and 7 times the storage. The device will sync with the original Kindle and other mobile devices over a system dubbed Whisper Sync. (more on that coming) Pricing has been set, just like a leak said, at $359 when the K2 launches on February 24th. Pre-order now.
