It’s beautiful! → Read More

Limited Leica C-Lux 3 is pretty like a princess

Although these special edition Leica C-Lux 3 point-and-shoots boast performance suspiciously similar to Panasonics half the price, they certainly have most of the camera world beat on looks. And they have that fabulous Leica logo. Like the titanium D-Lux we saw and the rumored Safari M8.2, these are pure vanity. And that’s why I love them. More pics after the hump. → Read More

LG Prada II: Tuesday in the UK

The LG Prada II is coming, thank God. It’s scheduled to debut in the UK, the originator of WAG culture, on Tuesday, November 18. The touchscreen phone, which has a 5-megapixel camera (which was last impressive two years ago), also has a slide-out keyboard, making it more G1 than iPhone. There’s no price just yet (though it was rumored at around €600), which is fantastic considering… → Read More

This humanoid robot may soon replace fashion models (or maybe not)

The Hyogo Prefectural Institute of Technology recently presented [JP] a humanoid robot that is programmed to walk like a fashion model. The researchers claim they used materials easily available anywhere for the development of the robot, which comes with a frame made of aluminum. The Manekin Robotto (fashion model robot) stands just 160cm tall, which might not be enough to let it run on cat walks… → Read More

Shock report: One-quarter of iPhone users switched from a Razr

Flickr’d Several people on the “Internet” are making a big deal out of recently released numbers from J.D. Power and Associates that shows nearly one-quarter of Motorola Razr users switched to the iPhone. I don’t know what’s so surprising about that. If people had gotten the Razr in 2005, when it was popular (I swear, every two-bit jerk had one at my school; I pitied… → Read More

Sweet designer keyboards are stylish and unreasonably priced

Looking around the accessories section of this site I found this series of keyboards (gold, green creepers, lotus print, bunnysuckle(?), flowers) that look totally amazing. The description of each calls the keys "handmade," which says "sweatshop" to me, but that’s nothing new. All that matters is how good it looks. These designs would make for amazing gifts for a stylish… → Read More

Creating wearable art from busted wristwatches for fun and net loss

I doubt you need any help spray-painting watchesBut you’ll get an article on how to do it anyway. I’ve had the same watch for five years and I intend to keep it going for another twenty, but there are a few laying around that could be used to make a brightly colored statement on how little regard I have for time in general. Remember, there are colors other than Juicy Fruit pink, so go… → Read More

Clockwork cuff-links, sadly sold out

BB posted this great cuff-link set made from old watch movements. These look like something from an old Hamilton ladies piece and the Etsy seller is charging a mere $55 for them. I’m upset they’re sold out. → Read More

SD card readers for gauche Japanese girls make me want to vom

[photopress:AD_MRCMR_1.jpg,full,center] ADTEC have lost their collective mind, releasing new SD card readers that can be customized — no, Bedazzled — by fingernail artists to make personalized works of electronic, tacky art. They’re big in Japan, but you know this kind of crap is going to make it across the Pacific sooner rather than later. Pimpable MicroSD Card Reader… → Read More

Can’t decide what phone to buy but want to base your purchasing decision solely on making sure that everyone else thinks you’re cool? Ask Sprint’s newest spokesperson, Stacy London, of TLC’s What Not To Wear and Fashionably Late. Is London a poor man’s Catherine Zeta Jones? Moo Card Carrying Cases

Say that three times fast! If you use Flickr, you’re probably familiar with Moo and the cute little biz cards they print up with your photos. Problem is, these cards are differently shaped than the standard business card Joe Blow (or Matt) hands you. So if you rely solely on Moo cards (or don’t), why not get a proper carrying case? These beautiful cases are available from Splatgirl on… → Read More

Lacoste Gets Jiggy With The Second Life Crowd

First off, forgive me for saying the word Jiggy. Now, apparently this game/Second Life/whatever you call it is getting really big. One of my favorite clothing companies, Lacoste, has struck a deal with Linden Labs to create a virtual modeling contest. Alligator & Co. are looking for 100 “remarkable” avatars to appear in Second Life and model Lacoste clothing. Six of the winners… → Read More

Bracelet Phone Design Concept: Who Says Phones Aren't Fashion Accessories?

Design concepts rule. They remind you of how derivative current phone designs are. Unofficially known as the bracelet phone, this one stays on your wrist and vibrates during an incoming call. To speak, you unclip it and hold it to your ear. It’s got a few other perks as well, such as its ability to play MP3s. Of course, “got” is highly subjective since it’s just a concept… → Read More

Gucci Phone Fake Because I Say So

On March 9th, Engadget Mobile fabricated a charming story on a Gucci-branded cellphone. After looking at the above-left picture for about 45 seconds, I realized it was Photoshopped to all hell and back and is never going to come out. Ever. I mean sure, with the recent announcement of that iPhone rip-off LG Prada phone, one could easily imagine the fashion house of Gucci coming out with a phone for… → Read More

FLeX 4.2 PC

This Mini-ITX Media Center is intended for the fashionably-minded consumer. It’s powered by a respectable 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo with 2GB DDR and a 750GB hard drive with vibration dampening. That’s all fine and good, but what sets this rig apart is its ability to fold. One can bend it into more agreeable appearances for use with a home theater system or whatever else you have in mind. → Read More

JLr7: For People l33t3r Than You

Hey I love intriguing and original design, but on the other hand, I’m nothing if not practical. And as a tech critic, it’s my job to question the validity of products. So when I saw this JLr7 watch I knew that it falls neatly into the realm of products I’d question heavily. Designed by Eri & Eiichi, the JLr7 features a bunch of L-shaped segments that somehow tell time. Now… → Read More

Carbon Fiber Hats

Carbon fiber is the new, ummmmm…. chrome? These hats look like they’ve go great with Crash Override’s outfit while he hacks the Gibson and smooches an elfin Acid Burn [Link NSFW]. The hats are made by Ginity and are purported to mix Formula 1 materials with downtown street stylee, but I’ll believe it when I see it on someone’s head.
