Bar Power Is A Nightlife App To Help You Be Less Of A Jerk At Bars

barpower

Once you’ve had a few drinks at a bar it’s easy to let loose and blow off steam. Unfortunately, while you’re having fun, you could end up annoying others around you, namely the staff at the venue you’re at. By acting like a fool, you’re jeopardizing your future visits, since bartenders tend to remember who was a jerk and who was a great customer. A project at our… → Read More

OUYA To Launch Soon, But Where Are The Games?

Ouya_Family_1024x1024

With less than two months before OUYA’s launch, it’s time to tell the truth — its future doesn’t look promising. The OUYA is starting to feel like a gaming console without the games. Publishers and developers aren’t promoting OUYA games because there’s nothing to promote — nothing that was specifically developed for the launch line-up. Even worse, Final Fantasy III will be the flagship launch… → Read More

sky-gamblers-four-player

Some iOS games have done some pretty cool stuff with AirPlay, including Real Racing HD 2, but it’s always seemed like there’s so much more possible from the technology, especially when it comes to gaming. A new update for Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy from Namco Bandai adds split-screen gaming via AirPlay and the Apple TV. Up to four players can dogfight at once now, each playing from their own… → Read More

InstaMatch Turns Instagram Into A Game

instamatch

Tiny Hearts, the Toronto-based studio behind Pocket Zoo, a top 50 iOS app (and one of my kid’s personal favorites), has just released a new title that turns Instagram into a game. The new app is called InstaMatch, and it’s a modernized take on the classic memory matching game. In InstaMatch, instead of using images of duplicate items, the photos users match up come from Instagram. → Read More

James Bond's Omega Watch In 007: Blood Stone Video Game

While this is not exactly a surprise, it is pretty neat. James Bond has been wearing an Omega watch for a long time (since maybe 1995). The brand was able to usurp Rolex – as was the watch chosen by Ian Flemming originally. In the upcoming James Bond 007: Blood Stone video game, the digitized version of the Daniel Craig will wear a prominent Omega Seamaster Professional Ref. 22005000 watch. It is… → Read More

40/40: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker gets perfect Famitsu rating

I was able to play Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, the new MGS title for Sony’s PSP, at last year’s Tokyo Game Show (where the game was playable for the first time). I thought it was pretty good back then, and now the Famitsu, Japan’s (and probably the world’s) best selling video game magazine reviewed the title and gave it a perfect total score of 40. → Read More

Rubik's Cube: Celebrating 30 years of frustration

I have a confession to make. I’ve never been able to solve a Rubik’s cube. I had a solved one in my office for years, but its one I bought at the store, removed from the package, and put on the shelf. Everything was fine until my son got hold of it, and jumbled it up for me. → Read More

iPhone App Review: Deer Hunter 3D

When I was a kid, I loved going to arcades and playing shooting games. Something about wielding a fake, plastic gun and mindlessly blasting away at aliens, dinosaurs, or zombies was truly exhilarating. Of course, as time went on, I became a more somber and critical gamer–I wanted “realism” and thought it was ridiculous I could kill 500 enemies without getting hit once myself. The wildly… → Read More
