  • WinMo 7: Shake it!

So Windows Mobile 7 leaked all over CES like a nice, fresh Brie and boy are we hap-hap-happy. Finally, Windows Mobile looks barely like something that someone somewhere would actually potentially purchase or use. David at Mobility Today has a nice write up complete with photos. Check out this little picture of a shaky shaky phone playing music. Please let this be the release that makes me go… Read More

  • Creative's InPerson leaked through FCC

Hmmm… a wee video phone by Creative? Found on the FCC website? With RCA out and a little webcam? A way to just drop a little device on a table and talk to momma a thousand miles away? Looks that way. Expect to see this little gem at CES but you can see it now on the FCC website. Creative resurrects video phone with InPerson [Electronista] Read More

  • Microsoft polishes its turd: Windows 6.1 screenshots surface

Windows Mobile lovers rejoice! WinMo 6 now has threaded SMSes, a new home screen (Wooot!), copy and paste, and ummm… some other stuff. BGR has a full gallery so I won’t bore you with my anti-WinMo screeds. I will close this post by singing the James Bond theme song in text: La la la lalala la lala la la la la lala ladee da! Doo doot doo doo doo doo doo doodledang doo doo… Read More

  • Canon 5D Mark II immenent, prepare laser cannons

Ho ho ho! All of you folks looking for the 5D Mark II might be pleasantly surprised to find out that Capture One added the camera to their website’s error reporting page, suggesting that someone had lunch with someone at Canon maybe like last week and that someone heard that other someone say “Yeah, don’t put the 5D Mark II on your site yet, dude. God. The waitress is… Read More

  • Sniffer confirms: Apple not rotten

Citizens, it is safe to remove your iPhones from their tin-foil wrappings. The alarm raised by Hackintosh member XianLi that Apple was sending out your International Mobile Equipment Identity with every outgoing transmission turns out to have been nothing but the most base alarmism. Sure, there are graphs and numbers to support his theory, but some intrepid investigator at Heise.de broke… Read More

  • Microsoft working on some sort of new product

Something cryptic is going on. Apparently Microsoft is gearing up for a $300 million "creative consumer assignment" for a "brand new product." McCann Erickson, Microsoft’s current ad agency of choice, is allegedly pitching ideas as is Crispin Porter & Bogusky, ad wizards behind the Burger King commercials. If it’s being kept secret to create buzz, allow me… Read More

  • iTunes 7.5 hints at iPhone 1.1.2 firmware goodies

Thanks to some industrious people who can use a command line, we learn that the iPhone may or may not be able to manually sync music on the iPhone and/or create an automatic shuffled playlist, just like on the Shuffle. Another interesting development suggests voice memo recording. MacRumors thread Read More

  • CG Exclusive: Samsung F700-variant coming to Verizon

Don’t ask us when or where or how we know this, but Samsung’s much-drooled-after F700 will be hitting Verizon (so, yes, a CDMA version, which is smaller we’ve been told), probably by year’s end. As Peter Ha said so eloquently, I WANT THIS PHONE! It has a fullscreen touchscreen and fold-out QWERTY keyboard. Read More

  • SanDisk 8GB drag-and-drop 'TakeTV' player leaked

Let’s face it. Sometimes trying to get a video from your computer onto your television can be a cumbersome process. A product from Sandisk called "TakeTV" recently appeared on Buy.com’s website with the tagline, "The smart way to take your video from the PC to any TV!" The basic idea here is that you plug an 8GB USB flash drive into your computer, transfer… Read More

  • Zune update leaked?

A Zune user told the other Zune user on zunerama that somehow Microsoft pushed out an updated version of the Zune software, version 2.1.0522.00. It doesn’t seem to do anything more than just sit there right now, but is this a look at Zune software to come? A failed update that frightened the masses? Zune software 2.1.0522.00 beta? [Zunerama] Read More

  • Apple to offer webapp "download" page

Apple is extending an olive branch — albeit dipped in stinky, runny, rancid cheese — by creating a website full of web apps for use on the iPhone. Now remember — web apps suck, especially the ones that are ostensibly offering IM access. Like Adam and Steve in the Garden of Eatin’, once you’ve tried the sweet, sweet taste of a native, localized compiled… Read More

  • Zune press release sneak peek leaked, MS shrieked, source's outlook bleak

Holy moly, Zune day is rolling along nicely. Somebody, and we’re not saying who, mostly because we don’t really know, has leaked the embargoed Zune press release set for midnight tonight. Now, we’d never do anything like that, our journalistic integrity is more important than a scoop, even one as scoopable as Zune deets. We’re not like that. Fortunately, anonymous… Read More

  • FCC spills Zune 2 information; 4GB, 8GB, and exactly what we thought

Oh, by the way, readers, today is Zune day. Why is it Zune day? Because the Zune 2 is launching tonight, like, duh. At this point it’s about as secret as the fact that president Carter was behind 9/11. Inappropriate jokes aside, Technabob just dug up these sketches of the flash-based Zune 2 (which we’ve heard might be called the Zune Pixel, or perhaps Pixas (picks-us)) on the… Read More

  • Amazon Leaks Canon 40D Specs

Looks like Amazon pulled another blooper with the Canon EOS 40D. Eagle-eyed shoppers found a page stating that the camera would drop September 20th for $1,299 (body only). It still has a 10-megapixel sensor but they’ve also found out that it will have a 3-inch display and a new 802.11b/g transmitter add-on called the WFT-E3A. Full specs after the jump. Read More

  • "Cavemen" And Other Sure-To-Be Fall TV Hits Already Leaked Online

“Cavemen.” It was leaked and it sucks. “Son of a submariner!” That’s an expletive certain to be heard in the greater Hollywood area when TV execs find out that many of their upcoming TV shows, scheduled to debut this fall, have already leaked online. I mean, they all probably suck to high heaven, but that’s besides the point. Such works of art as… Read More

  • Dark Army of Pirates Transcribing Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling's Land Rover and Nice House Outside of London, TechCrunch Gets MoM Lawyer-Gram

TorrentFreak is reporting that Harry Potter lovers are currently transcribing the entire Harry Potter photo PDF set, slaving over keyboards like a band of iterate monks illuminating a massive manuscript involving an evil one, a young savior, and the ultimate sacrifice — not the Bible, silly, but the secularist, witchcraft filled Satanism of J.K. Rowling’s unholy scribbling! Sony… Read More

  • WWDC Leopard Beta Leaked Onto BitTorrent Site

It looks like the WWDC beta of Leopard was leaked onto the Oink BitTorrent Web site. (I’m not about to download it, though, that’s for sure.) Here’s a screen shot. And another. And another. That last one made me laugh. Oops! Nobody’s completely downloaded the 6GB file yet, but the site’s forum is red hot with activity and the file already has 205 comments. Read More

  • Wired Almost-Sorta Reviews the Leopard WWDC Beta: Most Impressive

The WWDC build of Leopard still hasn’t leaked onto the Internet (aside from, perhaps, some super-private BitTorrent trackers), but Wired has a mini-review of the beta. Keeping in mind that Leopard isn’t scheduled to come out until October, Wired basically gave it the Thumbs Up. The brightest spot seems to be the new Finder, which makes browsing around your file system easier. Read More

  • Leopard WWDC Beta Leaked Then Quickly Un-Leaked: Apple Playing Hardball?

Apple appears to have used its goons to prevent the unauthorized leak of the newest Mac OS X Leopard beta, build 9A466. Jerks. Someone posted the beta onto the Oink BitTorrent site on Thursday and within six hours “ninjas got to [him].” Users on various Internet sites have taken that to mean that Apple’s lawyers had contacted the leaker, forcing him to kill the torrent. That… Read More

  • Leaked Interal AT&T Docs Point to More Collaboration With Apple

Talking points make the world go ’round and, somehow, that Boy Genius obtained internal AT&T documents detailing the wireless provider’s game plan for the iPhone and beyond. Most of the document is simply rehashed stats and specs and marketing speak, but there are a few morsels of information for us to devour. Shall we? Read More
