To paraphrase my favorite Jack Handy quote, “If the Vikings were around today, they would probably be amazed at the number of wireless audio solutions we have.” Hopefully said Vikings would read reviews of said wireless audio solutions here at CrunchGear, since we’ve covered a fair number of these things. Today we’re taking a look at the Eos wireless audio solution. “Named for the Greek goddess of… → Read More
We’ve got good news, and we’ve got not-so-good news. The good news: PhoneArena just got their hands on 6 screen shots showing off a handful of devices making their first appearances in Verizon’s inventory system. The not-so-good news: They don’t really answer any questions. In fact, they raise more questions than they answer – but we still love us a good leak! A… → Read More
Shortly after we broke the news that Palm was had at work on device to follow the Pre, the details came pouring in: first we got the codename (Pixie), then we got the tentative marketing name (Eos). A few days later, we had a launch window: according to a leaked AT&T slide, the Eos would launch in the second half of 2009. Alas, things get a bit crazy when you’ve just launched a device… → Read More
Lots of excitement today over a second Palm WebOS device now that the Pre has launched. The only problem is that none of this is news. We broke the story about the device, code named Pixie, on April 29. A day later we had the Pixie name and additional details.
As far as I can tell there are no additional details coming out now. So I’ll supply additional information that we’ve gathered. Our… → Read More
If you’re taking the original Palm Eos story with a grain of salt, you’re going to want to find another, slightly smaller grain for this one. Now, we’d previously heard that the Eos was going to AT&T – and with the Pre being exclusive to Sprint and AT&T’s new-found love for exclusivity, most of us just assumed AT&T had this one locked down. Following the… → Read More
Short Version: The EOS wireless audio system is dead simple to set up and use, although a high price tag and so-so sound quality might keep some people away. → Read More
The Canon EOS 5D Mark II broke cover earlier in the week and while pics of the camera are available, pics from the camera were absent; that is until the camera aficionados at Digital Photography Review released the first set. There are 40 images available in their full resolution for you camera nerds to drool over. → Read More
Hot on the heels of the D90 we find the 21-megapixel EOS 5D Mark II, a $2,699 monster with a 50-25,600 ISO range with a full-frame 24x36mm CMOS sensor. The kit with lens costs $3,499. Most interestingly is the 1920 x 1080 pixel HD video at 30 fps. While these new video features are a bit hard to stomach – DSLRs take pictures well but rarely take good video – but clearly some of this… → Read More
Oh boy — another camera I can’t afford! I was already fretting about being too poor to get the 40D (but contemplating it anyway) and then they have to drop this beauty on my lap? Canon, give me a break. Here are the vital statistics: Canon 50D 15.1 megapixels> Digic 4 image processor 95% magnification pentaprism viewfinder 9-point AF (come on Canon, is that all?) 3-inch LCD… → Read More
High res available here. Canon was kind enough to send this to me earlier today and I’m happy to post for all you Canon fanboys or potential fanboys. The offer runs from May 18 to July 19, 2008. → Read More
Canon has quite a bit to celebrate this year. Not only is it Canon’s 70th birthday and 20th anniversary of the launch of the EOS line of SLR cameras, but they’ve reached a rather remarkable milestone. The whole of the EOS line (film and DSLR) has passed the 30-million mark in terms of production. That’s a pretty big deal if you ask me. Keep it up, Canon. You’ve got some… → Read More
It seems fairly obvious, but if you really want to listen to your music anywhere in the house on your iPod… you just take your iPod with you. But apparently Eos Wireless seems to think it is a better for you to plug the device into this compact docking station, which will let you stream to other speakers. In fairness, this does allow you to share the tunes, so that’s not a bad thing. The Eos… → Read More
Canon is allegedly upgrading the EOS series to 40D on September 26th. The new camera will potentially have a 10.1-megapixel sensor, a 2.5-inch LCD and that anti-dust feature. Not much else right now, but we can assume the 30D will go down about $100 – just like with the Rebel XT – and this one will be priced at 30D levels, about $1,300. The image, BTW, is a mock-up. UPDATE –… → Read More
