Bang & Olufsen’s New Beolit 12 Speaker Dock Preps For The Holidays

beolit12

Christmas is right around the corner, and what could be a better complement your gingerbread and eggnog than a full month of Christmas music. Nothing, right? Which is why you may need this new minimalistic speaker dock from Bang & Olufsen.

Based on the FCC info, it looks like the Beolit 12 will be configured for AirPlay, and also supports USB and Ethernet connectivity, along with a 3.5mm jack for those of you who prefer cords. → Read More

Bang And Olufsen Bring 16 Speakers To The New BMW 6-Series Coupé

BMW announced today the all-new BMW 6 Series Coupé with a Bang and Olufsen sound system with 16 loudspeakers driven by 1,200 watts of power. There are seven tweeters that come paired with mid-range speakers for consistent sound. The other two speakers are the two massive subwoofers mounted to the car body under the front seats. This method ensures there aren’t any vibrations or rattles from the subwoofers. → Read More

Spend that tax return on a $12,000 46" Bang and Olufsen TV (monocle not included)

To be fair, the $12,000 figure cited in the headline is pure guesswork on my part. But when the 40″ version of the TV, reviewed here at FlatPanelsHD, costs £6000 (about $10,000), it’s easy enough to do the math. These mega-lux TVs are meant to be the final word in current LCD TV technology — and will of course be worth less than a fig once AMOLED is the standard. Until then, however (probably two years), these B&O sets will remain, high-cost, high-quality, and high-fashion displays for you to watch heavily compressed cable news on. → Read More

BeoSpray adds the Midas touch to Bang & Olufsen products

Bang & Olufsen has obviously forget that the current trend by NYC bankers and Silicon Valley nerds is to spend their bailout money under the radar and not on extravagant AV equipment; don’t want to upset the taxpayers. Anyway, the uber-high-end multimedia company now offers some of its wares in a golden hue. → Read More

Hands on with the B&O, Samsung Serenata

Here we have the lovechild of Samsung and Bang & Olufsen. It’s a quirky looking phone that most would think is upside down. We typically see scroll-wheels set at the bottom of the handset rather than the top. Sound quality on the Serenata is superb. It definitely improves on the Serene. The UI is all done from the scroll-wheel or on the touch screen, which is limited to firing up the music player or bringing up the three main apps that are used. Tapping the center of the screen brings up an old rotary phone icon with which you use the scroll-wheel to input numbers. I’ll admit that it’s not the easiest thing to use, but when scrolling through the menu anything related to the music player is highlighted in red and anything to do with the phone is highlighted in blue. I can’t vouch for phone quality and I certainly don’t see myself finding it to be the most ergonomic device either. It’s just weird, but as a music phone it’s probably the best device I’ve ever heard. With 4GB of internal memory you’ll be bumping your tunes in style. → Read More

Update: Samsung+Bang & Olufsen F310 Serenata Cellphone: Totally real, totally $2,000

This Samsung F310 Serenata is real. I asked one of my friends at Samsung and he’s like, “I’m pretty sure.” That’s air-tight confirmation right there. He doesn’t know it it’ll come out in Americaland, though, so for now we’ll just have to make due with these renders. No spy shots, no unboxing, just a few renders. The stats aren’t bad by any means: 4GB of built-in memory, HSDPA, 2.4-inch screen, crazy Bang & Olufsen speaker, etc. Hopefully one of those wacky Euro sites will post actual photos of the thing. Oh, and its price works out to around $2,000. Chump change. UPDATE: OK, T3 has a video of the phone doin’ its phone thing. Word. Banged in the Olufsen: New $862 4GB Music Player

What does $862 get you nowadays? Premium headphones and a 4GB digital music player. Bang & Olufsen’s new Beosound 6 is perfect for people who wear pleated khakis and loafers with no socks, enjoy 24 hours of battery life, and don’t have time to comparison shop. If that’s you, great. If that’s not you, maybe you could just pick up Samsung’s YP-Z5 — the Bang & Olufsen player looks like it and uses its software. It’s listed on Amazon for $159, a savings of almost a billion dollars. Use that savings for a nice pair of headphones and oh, I don’t know, some groceries. Bang & Olufsen unveils luxury 4GB music player [Electronista] → Read More

Bang & Olufsen BeoLab9 Loudspeakers: Marketed So Fancily, You'd Hardly Know They're Speakers

These crazy looking things are the Bang & Olufsen BeoLab9 loudspeakers. Now, when you go to B&F’s Web site, you’ll notice that the copy reads like the speakers are some sort of United Nations program to save the world from certain doom. But they’re not. They’re just unique looking speakers. Yes, they have all the goodies to ensure they sound wonderful, but there’s really no reason to herald them as the Second Coming. → Read More

Bang & Olufsen Debuts Serene Cell Phone

Sorry, we missed this yesterday, but luxury electronics-maker Bang & Olufsen launched its first North American mobile phone, Serene, which was co-developed by Samsung. I know it’s not new new, and the set of functions on the $1,300 plus mobile isn’t anything more than standard (camera, SMS, MMS, e-mail, calendar, WAP and Bluetooth). However, its design is fairly unique including the placement of the mic and speaker which are flipped, so that behind the circular keypad (the center of which is a scroll wheel) is a larger-than-average speaker promising “the best sound quality in the mobile telephone market.” Plus, while the look might not be for everyone, especially since it pretty well resembles a woman’s compact, it is a beautiful design and appears to achieve the company’s goals of simplicity and convenience.
