AOL creates 20 new software engineer jobs in Dublin
Candidates are also being sought for AOL’s Advertising Technology division in Dublin, which develops the company’s advertising services – ADTECH and AOL Advertising, and Patch – a new local news service which provides personalised news in towns across the U.S.
The new jobs are described as “high value experienced professional software engineering positions” with an emphasis on Java qualifications and industry experience ranging from two to eight years.
Commenting on the new jobs, Aengus McClean, Head of AOL Global Operations Limited, says: “This is a very exciting time for AOL, and particularly for our expanding operations in Dublin. We have a very clear goal to become the leading web services company in the world, and our Irish operations will play a crucial role in our success.”
On that note, AOL has been based in Dublin for the past 10 years and currently employs 133 people. Dublin is its development engine for Europe and works alongside its sister Development Centres in San Francisco, Dulles, New York, Bangalore and Frankfurt. The Company announced in June that it plans to move to a new headquarters in Dublin City Centre.
