MXP4 raises a further $4m for its remixable music widgets
Launched in 2007, MXP4, which offers a digital format to music that rivals the MP3 format, lets users remix tracks, add images and video content, add music layers and more.
In the past year, over 100 recording artists including David Guetta, Michael Jackson and Britney Spears, and brands including Air France Music and Coca-Cola, have used MXP4 on the web and iPhone. The startups says fans use interactive music for an average of 9.1 minutes per track, which drives 75% of traffic virally and creates clicks purchases as much as 3%.
