Yikes: cell phones causing cancer again
“People who started mobile phone use before the age of 2 had more than five-fold increase in glioma”, a cancer of the glial cells that support the central nervous system. The extra risk to young people of contracting the disease from using the cordless phone found in many homes was almost as great, at more than four times higher.
No sir, I don’t like it. I wonder, however, if there is a confounding variable in that kids with cell phones are much more likely (I’m guessing) to live in an urban area, where radio waves from towers, other cell phones, wi-fi, and so on are much more prevalent. Even if that’s the case, it’s still a pretty serious indictment of the radiation we’re exposed to daily. I hope they’re proven wrong, if only because according to their findings I’m in the danger zone.
