Samsung Has Super Snappy 32GB Class 10 MicroSD Cards In The Works, 64GB To Follow
Using 20nm-class NAND flash chips, the card will offer read speeds of up to 24MB/s and write speeds of 12MB/s. For reference, that’s twice as fast as a class 4 card. Samsung’s new offering will pack 32GB of memory, and the company also has plans to deliver a 64GB class 10 microSD card around the beginning of 2012. “The new 32GB memory card incorporates 32Gb 3-bit NAND flash memory chips and a proprietary 3-bit NAND controller to deliver the high performance,” said Samsung.
No word yet on pricing but Kingston’s 32GB class 10 microSD card runs for around $80, so we expect to see Samsung’s fall somewhere close to that price-point.
