Fresh off the Twitter press, Paper.li launches in French and German
There are currently some 99.7K registered users on the site publishing some 1,000 new newspapers daily. The US currently accounts for 40% of users, however, non-English speaking users also make-up roughly 40% traffic with French and German users leading the way. Currently, some 207 countries are represented in the company’s userbase.
Interestingly enough, when we spoke to the team back in July, the company had been planning to go after the Japanese market first – which was at the time making up the majority of traffic on the site. An Italian version of the site had also been mentioned at the time, in addition to French, German and Spanish.
Along the same lines as Twittertim.es, Paper.li definitely makes Twitter a lot easier to read for anyone who is freaked out by #hashtags and RTs and such. And it’s completely customized content, as the platform does a semantic analysis of URLs in order to provide the reader with the most relevant content. Oh, and for all you Apple-lovers out there, the site has also been optimized for use on the iPad so that you can step back from your laptop and read the paper…er, Twitter.
