Germany to get 5-10 new Apple stores

Apple is on the move today. First the company’s Chinese aspirations broke, and now we learned that Apple plans on opening ten new retail outlets within Germany. (plus one that’s about to open) These new locations could bump Apple’s retail presence up from three to 14.

So far only a few of the exact locations have been nailed down: the CentrO shopping mall in Oberhausen, Jungfernstieg in Hamburg, the Main Taunus centre in Frankfurt-Sulzback, Olympick Park in Munich. Then even Dresden, Dortmund, Leipzig, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, and Cologne might get an Apple Store.

These expansion plans probably do not sit well with the numerous Apple resales not only in Germany, but all across Europe. Apple is clearly shifting towards a direct involvement in more markets worldwide and we’ll likely hear of more retail plans soon.
