MySpace launches DRM-free music store
The catalog is limited for now, with only three of the big four labels included, but the fourth, EMI, has an option to join whenever it sees fit.
What’s notable is that MySpace has plans to include indie labels and even artists themselves in the store in the near future. We’re envisioning a way to download an album right from a band’s MySpace page. That’s good for the bands, but bad for us, because it means more crappy Nickelback-type bands will be randomly friending us. Great!
