I expressed some hope a while back, after seeing what appeared to be a teaser image for a 3D Mega Man, that Capcom would grace us with a version of the game for the 3DS. That hasn’t been ruled out, but this Mega Man Universe thing is… less exciting, and confusing.

The updated graphics look out of place; part of the charm of Mega Man 9 and 10 was the wonderful sprite art in the style of the original — they even added sprite flicker like on a real NES. The new style is… sort of anonymous, and it looks like you’re controlling a feeble child.

I don’t know. We’ll have to see how it actually plays.
