LMAO! RGBXYZ! I think we need a couple more acronyms in that headline. It seems LG’s Red-Green-Blue Light Emitting Diode technology is coming to laptops. Until now it’s been limited to TVs and monitors because of production issues, but it looks like we may be seeing more of them soon. RGB LCDs feature better color reproduction vs. traditional LCDs because there are separate LEDs for the each of the primary display colors, and are mercury-free to boot.

This is great news for photographers, videographers, and image quality freaks — I know a few people who will be glad not to have to color-correct on a separate monitor just because their notebook has a limited gamut. Here’s hoping I’ll have one of these in my lappy some time soon.
