I can’t say I got the full message from the translation of this page, but apparently Sony Japan is working on a new touchscreen technology that’s thinner and more durable than current models. If I’m reading this correctly, and I doubt that I am, it involves something called a “NARIMASHI hoop.” It seems you can also write on it with a special pen, and “touch display much input.”

Basically it’s based on some sort of optical detection technology and supports multiple inputs. Sounds cool, but I’ll wait for the press release in English before getting truly excited. But I do like the warning they put at the top: “please note that we please.”
