Founded in 1999 by Marc Benioff, Parker Harris, Dave Moellenhoff and Frank Dominguez, Salesforce is a global cloud computing company. It began by specializing in software as a service (SaaS), and is known for its customer relationship management (CRM) product and its sales cloud, which includes a real-time sales collaborative tool, the service cloud, that provides companies with a call center-like view; the custom cloud; and, a social performance management platform.

It has expanded into the social enterprise arena through acquisitions. Salesforce offers its services in 16 languages.
