Sprig Revamps Menu To Make It Even Easier To Eat Well

Sprig, the on-demand food delivery startup already known for healthy food, has revamped its menu with new options to help people make better nutritional decisions. Now, Sprig customers will be able to order from three food categories: clean, balance and fuel.

Meals in the “clean” category, for example, will always be 550 calories or less with lots of vegetables. The “balance” meals will be no more than 700 calories, with a combination of vegetables, lean protein and grains. Meanwhile, “fuel” is for people who want to consume a lot of protein. The idea is to give people an easier way to achieve their nutritional goals. Here’s the full breakdown, which Sprig CEO Gagan Biyani wrote in an email to customers today:

The new categories aim to give Sprig customers an easy way to eat well. Sprig developed this system with the help of Sam Kass, President Barack Obama’s former chef. Sprig has also increased its vegetable offering to guarantee at least two servings of vegetables in every Sprig meal.

Sprig is also going to start delivering snacks, like fruit and protein bars, as add-ons to meals. Though, you could theoretically just order snacks as long as you meet the $7 delivery minimum. Sprig is one of many food delivery startups competing for your tastebuds. There’s Munchery, SpoonRocket, Eat24, Postmates and several others.
