Social Media Marketing Platform Viralheat Launches Advanced Facebook Targeting

Social media analytics and publishing platform Viralheat’s dashboard now includes advanced Facebook targeting, the startup announced today. This allows businesses to customize and publish ads and other marketing content targeted to specific demographics of Facebook users based on criteria including location (country, state of city), age, gender, marital status and education level.

Its new advanced Facebook targeting follows Viralheat’s redesign, which was unveiled in February to make managing multiple accounts, tracking analytics and engaging with audiences easier for social media managers.

Viralheat seeks to differentiate itself from other social media marketing platforms like Hootsuite with its focus on simplifying the frequently tedious process of managing different social media accounts. Its Smart Stream feed, which was launched as part of its redesign, allows users to create filters based on keywords, social networks and sentiment. The service already allowed users to publish directly to their personal Facebook accounts. Advanced Facebook targeting enables social media managers to reach even more specific demographics with customized announcements.

“We saw the need for our larger clients to be able to target their audience based on specific demographic criteria,” said Viralheat CEO Raj Kadam in a statement. “Often times they’ve expended their marketing budgets trying to manually reach a target audience without blasting announcements or offers to their entire following. Our advanced Facebook targeting features allows users to reach a very specific demographic. It has been particularly helpful to our customers that are trying to reach very niche audiences.”
