Russian Government Computer To Run On Linux By 2015
The Russian government will start a pilot program to ease the transition to open-source software during the second quarter of 2012, with the goal of having everyone running Linux by 2015. In the past there’s been political resistance to moving to open-source software. Given the fact that Prime Minister Putin has decreed that the government will go to Linux, that political resistance is no longer a factor.
