France's Stupeflix launches digital alternative to the paper Valentine
While the Valentine theme is naturally oriented towards the consumer market, the company’s main revenue model lies in addressing the digital marketing needs of businesses. Stupeflix has already seen online real estate leaders HomeFinder and MyNewPlace put their platform to use. Additionally, virtual tourism site Previsite and Orange’s MemoryLife service also make use of their technology.
Stupeflix co-founders Nicolas Steegmann and François Lagunas were formerly part of the teams at Exalead and DailyMotion. Maintaining particularly good ties with the latter, DailyMotion has actually integrated Stupeflix’s technology as part of their motionmaker feature.
The company has its roots in winning Seedcamp 2008 and officially launched in January of 2009. It was a TechCrunch Europe finalist in 2009 and has received funding from Atlas Ventures, Index Ventures and Balderton Capital.
