So we know for sure that we’re getting NVIDIA chipsets in our new MacBooks, and the “brick”-based unibody design is also pretty much a go. But there are still some rumbles about Blu-Ray drives. I’m not entirely convinced, but the more I think about it, the more it seems that Apple really doesn’t have a choice.
Other high-end notebooks have started rocking Blu-Ray drives, and if Apple wants to be be able to say that the MBP is the best lappy on the market, it has to compete on that level. The cost is still pretty high, so I’m guessing it’ll be available but not required. What’s your take? And would you shell out for a Blu-Ray writer?
