
Motorola just revealed that its new phones today will come with Chrome pre-installed. Traditionally, Android phones have come with different browsers, but never Google’s own, which officially came out on Google Play after an extended beta. At this event, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside said they’d be the first devices with Chrome pre-installed, but the Nexus 7 also has that distinction.
Still, these will be the first phones with Chrome pre-installed, which is especially noteworthy because Google is now the parent company of Motorola Mobility, and people are wondering if that will result in a more native experience. Woodside also took a jab at Apple during the presentation, noting that both Google Maps and YouTube would come pre-installed, which they generally are on Android phones, but which they won’t be on Apple’s next iPhone as per the latest beta releases of iOS 6.
