Rovio and Roku recently announced that the oh-so-popular Angry Birds game will hit the video streamer sometime this summer. Angry Birds is said to be just the first of casual games coming to Roku. Details are still on the light side but all three of the current Angry Birds games — Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Rio — will be part of the offering along with animated shorts whenever it launches this summer. Presumably, although not officially stated by Roku, the games will work on at least the current generation of boxes but the company’s firm stance on backwards compatibility lends to the thought that the Angry Birds games will work on all Roku boxes. They’ve came a long way since just a Netflix box, eh? [Roku via Zatz Not Funny]
