JVC announced [JP] three new Everio camcorders yesterday, the high-end GZ-HM670/690 and the GZ-HM450. While the first two models boast a back-side illuminated 3.3MP CMOS sensor (for better images in dark areas), the HM450 only has a 1.5MP CMOS sensor.

All three models feature 40x optical zoom, full HD video recording, an SD/SDHC slot, a USB port, an HDMI interface, a 2.7-inch LCD screen and an automatic upload function (for example to YouTube and Facebook).

Sanyo plans to start selling the new Everios in the next few days (in Japan). Prices: $950 for the GZ-HM670 (pictured above in pink) with 32GB of internal memory, $950 for the HM690 (with 64GB) and $540 for the low-end model with just 8GB on board.
