UK startup Tripbod has signed tourist body Visit Britain as a major distribution partner for a new unannounced product the startup will be launching with them.

Tripbod works by connecting people who want to go on trips with local experts. The experts are paid direct to come up with a personalised day-by-day trip itinerary, complete with maps, to print at home. Prices are based on length of trip, and start at £16 for a one day trip or £50 for a week. Personally if I was really busy (which I am) that would be money well spent, especially on something tailor-made.

“Tripbods” or the experts are vetted one by one. That means the service may have issues scaling but think Mahalo for trips I guess.

The CEO is Sally Broom, who was interviewed here.

Tripbod was voted best pitch last night at TWiST London, beating off some strong competitors.

The passion of the founder was a wonder to behold and all the questions were handled with great aplomb.

Time to go and re-plan that short break later in the year…….

Well done Sally. Nice to see a northern tech startup doing so well. Your product has come a long way since we first discussed.

Hope you find the CTO you are looking for.

    Best regards
    Manoj
