1. Battlefield Heroes 2. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 3. ??? 4. Profit! (Maybe)

I didn’t even know Battlefield: Heroes was available, and here I find out that there’s verifiable controversy! (Aside from WoW, I’m not really a multi-player guy, per se.) Anyhow, thanks to the smashing success of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, EA is planning to do a bit of a tie-in. Did you buy B:BC2? If you did, then EA will give you $5 worth of in-game currency to spend on virtual pants or whatever.

Battlefield: Heroes looks a lot like Team Fortress 2, no? It’s a nominally free multi-player FPS, but there was controversy late last year when EA switched things up. Rather than keep things as they were—items like guns could be purchased with earned in-game currency, but things like clothes and shiny tiaras had to be bought with cold hard cash—mdash;EA flipped the switch. Then, while you could buy a gun with fake in-game currency, you could also buy it with cold hard cash. It upset the balance of the game.

Again, so I understand. I never have played the game, and the odds that I will are really quite low.
