The Golden Globe nominees were announced yesterday, and I’m going to go with Paul O and Ron’s (from Ron and Fez… seriously, I have XM on all day long) conclusion that this year has been a fairly weak one. There were a few good films (I enjoyed Ingloorious Basterds, and I want to see Up in the Air and The Informant and A Serious Man) but does anything really seem like an Oscar lock? I think not. Thank God for leaked screeners!
Yes, the annual tradition of making available movie screeners on BitTorrent and whatnot just in time for the award season is upon us. Zeropaid, a fine Web site that I used to read when I was like 13 and 14 (it was actually the first tech site I read!), has compiled a little list of all the Golden Globe nominees and lists when their screeners were leaked, DVDs ripped, and Blu-rays put on the Internet for your consumption. It’s just a list—there are no torrent links or anything—but I’m sure you can figure it out from there.
I’ll be on the lookout for the foreign language films because there is a zero percent chance that I’ll so much as read The Hangover‘s or Julie & Julia‘s nfo file.
