Amazon is trying really really hard to get the Kindle out by Christmas in the UK, and you can’t hardly blame them. Given how successful the ebook reader has been in the US, you can’t help but expect the same results on the other side of the pond.
Getting the Kindle in the UK hasn’t been an easy task for Amazon. They’ve been met with resistance from the major cell providers like Vodaphone and Orange, largely due to the fact that they have competing products in the same market segment.
Amazon is rumored to have finalized a deal with Qualcomm, and is currently negotiating publishing deals with the news and magazine companies.
