CX1: Ricoh unveils new CMOS-sensor digi cam

ricoh_cx_1 Ricoh in Japan today announced the CX-1 compact digi cam (press release in English), an update to the R-10 released last year. The CX1 comes with a 9 megapixel 1/2.3″ type CMOS sensor and a 7.1x optical zoom lens.  Shooting up to 120 frames/s at 640×480 pixel resolution is possible.

Other specs include a 3-inch TFT screen (920,000 pixels resolution), 4.8x digital zoom, ISO sensitivity between 80 and 1,600, dynamic range of 12 EV, 10 different scene modes, 88MB of internal memory with SD/SDHC card compatibility and video recording in up to 640×480 pixels. ricoh_cx_1_2 Ricoh will release the R-10 in the UK on March 13 (same day as in Japan) in black silver and pink. Price: £299 incl. VAT ($433, which is identical to the Japanese price). No announcement has been made yet by Ricoh for the USA.
