Tokyo-based sound equipment manufacturer Teragaki Labo today started selling the TERRA-SP3000 [JP], a pair of cool high-end speakers.

The wood used is Tamo, Japanese ash wood that’s similar to oak. $3,300 is the price, but that doesn’t matter because the speakers are so pretty. Too bad only Japanese audiophiles can buy them.

Takeshi Teragaki, the designer behind the 4.4Ω speakers, is known in Japan as a very demanding man. He once manufactured an ultra-precision record player for Audio Technica that cost over $3 million to make.
