Well lookie there, ABI Research has confirmed what we have been reporting for a while. It seems that *gasp* Blu-ray players are dropping for the holiday season to the $150-$200 range. We have already seen players that low (Sony BDP-S300 $142 with 4 movies) and Black Friday is sure to reveal more options. The only questions is wether these prices are going to stick around after the Christmas decorations are taken down.

Last year, the prices dropped to around $200 for Blu-ray and HD DVD players but after the format war ended and Spring rolled around, prices shot back up to nearly $400. Thankfully though, the prices are back down again so if you have been fencing sitting, it might be time to jump off.
