Transforming shoe changes from a sneaker to a sandal

During the summer some people find it difficult figuring out what kind of shoes to wear, sandals or sneakers. A German designer named K&T hopes to end that dilemma. They’ve designed a shoe called the Nat-2 that transforms from shoes into sandals with a pull of a zipper.

As you can see in the picture above, the shoes themselves look like a pair Converse All-Stars. The sandals are tucked inside, so you’re really wearing both at the same time. To get to the sandals you will have to take off your shoes, unzip the tops, and then put the sandals back on. With that much work involved, you might as well have just put on a different pair of shoes. On top of that, you still have to carry around the top part.

Don’t get me wrong, I think these shoes are a cool idea and a great conversation starter at the beach. I just don’t think they’re that practical, or worth the £60/$118 price tag (plus, they’re gold). At the moment they’re only available in London and there is no word on if/when the designer plans to take them worldwide.
