Amanda Congdon, arguably the first great female star of online video is back with a new show, Sometimesdaily.
Congdon, for those who aren’t familiar with her work, was the original host of Rocketboom who was fired in mysterious circumstances back in December 2006. Congdon appeared briefly in 2007 as a video blogger for ABC with the series “Amanda Accross America” until she parted company with ABC in September 2007.
The new show is billed as “an off-beat, interactive variety show exploring life’s themes through the inquisitive eyes of Amanda Congdon.”
It’s good to see her back, and she’s certainly looking healthy from the video above. I guess she didn’t want to appear in a future episode of online stars, where are they now or something similar.

I do think usage of the phrase “certainly looking healthy” really ups the aggregate creepiness here on TechCrunch.

You’re completely right: I shouldn’t have referred to her tan as being healthy (compare and contrast the file pic to the video) in the age of Skin cancer etc… still, you have to admit, she does look healthy.
@Elias: Where the hell can a girl score a push-up bar? Sounds rather less comfortable than the Wonderbra.
@Ryan MF: Amanda is smokin’ hot and there’s nothing creepy about pointing out the obvious, especially when she’s working it so well. It’s no more inappropriate than pointing out that Steven Wright speaks in a monotone.
ouch… 3 mins of boredom… the other people in the clip were lame and Amanda was too busy trying to show off her enhanced purchase items to carry on a good promo. Que this one up for the deadpool within 6 months of launch. although how many people still watch rocketboom anymore either…
oh my.. it is terrible.. i was thinking the other day that she would have been a good fit to replace Veronica Belmont in Mahalo Daily. i know Jason would have loved such a publicity stunt but after watching this… i take that back.

Bad acting, especially by the Risky Business guy. I liked how Amanda almost fell over when the put the quarter in her pocket. I guess she’s getting used to the new weight distribution. (”Looking healthy” is such a good turn of a phrase.)
That was pretty bad. High school, really. That one won’t make it past the first few episodes when people tune in to check out Amanda’s health.
I’d jump on the “I don’t like Amanda” bandwagon, but I appear to already be on board from one of her previous projects.
I may be mistaken but I don’t think ‘Amanda Across America’ was an ABC production. She did a variety news show with ABC after she had done Amanda Across America, which seemed to be sponsored by Volvo.
She has a great attitude and enthusiasm, I just hope she gets better material to work with.

Painful. She obviously can’t act and the material is beyond bad. But given her looks, I would say news reporter for a local station or VH1 veejay would be a better fit

Don’t blame Amanda for the production quality. The “camera guy” is her boyfriend, and he has no idea how to frame, light, or set color balance. Though in his defense I assume he’s spending most of his time twiddling other knobs.

It’s very LA, and you’d probably like it if you had the whole LA mindset. It seems to be designed for the sort of person who finds Perez Hilton entertaining which, as it happens, I am. Good luck Amanda.

Duncan: Lovely Al Capp/Li’l Abner reference there…though I opine that using “healthy” as a euphemism for “big-breasted” was somewhat more risqué in 1951 than it is today.
