NewBay wins 6.5EUR million funding

Dublin-based NewBay has won a 6.5 million euro ($4.96 million) second round investment from Fidelity Ventures with participation from Balderton Capital. NewBay made some of the first social and moblogging tools I ever tried out and it has since created white-label mobile social services for Orange, Alltel and Vodafone, and O2’s Bluebook backup service. The Dublin-based company will use the investment to enable further international expansion and R&D.
