Dell's first tablet PC ready to rock November 5

You’ve been a patient poppet, haven’t you? You’ve wanted a tablet PC, but you’re loyal to Dell, who’s been more than stingy with them. But we have good news for you, friend. The Latitude XT tablet from Dell is real, and it’s coming soon.

It’s a pretty standard affair, with a 12.1-inch swiveling touchscreen, a 1.2 GGz Core 2 Duo Intel processor, up to 3GB of RAM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a nifty fingerprint reader. Because we live in the world of the Bourne movies.

I like laptops a lot, but this is one I’m going to sit out. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice machine, and if it comes in at a good price point, they’ll sell many. But I don’t much care for Dell, and I don’t really understand tablet PCs, so it’s just personal preference, which, as a gadget blogger, I get to force down your throats. Try it with the peanut sauce, it’s great.
