Amazon To Sell Wii and PS3 on Tuesday

Areae Aims to Merge MMOG & Web 2.0

Last week we broke a story that Amazon would soon have many more PS3 and Wii units up for grabs. We didn’t know the date at the time, but it’s been confirmed: the systems will be available on Tuesday. But there is a catch.

If you want one of these highly elusive systems, you have to head over to Amazon now and sign up for the system you prefer. People will be chosen by lottery on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Quantities are, of course, limited and there is no word on precisely how many systems Amazon has.

As you can see from the screencap above, both PlayStation 3 models are available in addition to the Wii. Consumers can only sign up for one system.

To be eligible to purchase, your Amazon account must have been created no later than 11:59 p.m. PST on Dec. 11. And you have to enter your name in the drawing by 11:59 p.m. PST tonight.
