Get Your PS3, Wii On for Charity

ready to become yours. It might cost you a little more than retail, but it won’t be as much as what some dumbasses are paying, and the money goes to a good cause.

Best Buy has teamed up with Clear Channel Radio and launched a holiday auction to benefit Toys for Teens, part of the Marine’s Toys for Tots program. For the next 12 days (of Xmas, geddit?) the team will be auctioning off the lot of gaming consoles online. Each hour of those twelve days, the four highest bidders will win the PS3 or Wii they’ve been bidding on, and 100% of the purchase price goes to the Toys for Teens program. Some of the auctions have closed already, with a PS3 going for $800, a decent price given what some people have been paying.

The starting bid is the retail price of the given console, so if you’re looking for a steal, it’s not for you (and it’s Xmas for God’s sake). Each bid goes up $25, and the auctions are open from 8AM to 8PM EST. You must register to bid, it keeps the kiddies from wasting everyone’s time. Good luck with your bidding, you compassionate person you!
