MacBook Pros this morning, the Magsafe Plane adapter lets you safely plug into the airplane’s DC power ports – not available on el cheap-o Southwest flights.
The power adapter may look like the one in your car, but trust us, it doesn’t work there. The adapter can only power your MacBook Pro/MacBook while in use, it can’t charge it up. That’s due to the fact there’s not enough juice on the plane to service both charging and powering, so you’re going to have to settle for one or the other.
It costs $59 and you can get one now, showing the stewardesses that you know what you’re doing. Perhaps then they’ll let you use your laptop on the plane without giving you dirty looks and “accidentally” spilling your Diet Pepsi in your lap.
