PS3 Causes Sony Stock Drop

Contrary to popular belief, I don’t hate Playstation 3. In fact, I can’t wait to get my hands on one – if it works, that is. David Gibson, an analyst of for Macquaire Equities, released a report stating that Sony just had a recent a 2.75% drop in their stock due to technical problems with the Playstation 3 units at TGS this year.

We are concerned that such a negative problem has occurred so close to full production and is clearly negative news for the company.

Gibson’s report states that Playstation 3 units were overheating, behaving erratically and had to be repeatedly shut down. Once again, Sony stated that there were no problems with the Playstion 3 units themselves. How stupid do they think we are? Even 1Up experienced a defective Playstation 3 when an EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) editor was playing Motorstorm! Nanako Kato, of Sony, stated that the problem was due to poor ventilation and the heat of 200 PS3 units being too close together. She also stated that this was a common problem among all developers at trade shows. I’m just going to ignore what she has to say from now on and hope Sony gets the PS3 functioning properly before launch.
