SpotCam brings AI to cloud cameras for painless home security

Home security cameras utilizing the cloud to store video footage is a clear trend. Taiwanese company, SpotCam, has made cloud home monitoring cameras its focus for many years. SpotCam is best known for being the only company to offer free full time, high quality, continuous recording, complete, home monitoring cameras.

SpotCam is launching two new products: SpotCam Eva 2 and SpotCam FHD 2, both available by late November. Both devices feature free continuous recording, saved to the cloud in perpetuity.

Taking a closer look, SpotCam Eva 2 has smart pan and tilt capabilities, while SpotCam FHD 2 is fixed. Both provide Full HD 1080p video and feature sophisticated alert and schedule functions allowing you to customize the way you use it. Event notifications are texted or emailed immediately when the camera detects any motion or noise (depending on your settings).

SpotCam Eva 2 can pan up to 345 degrees and tilt up to 90 degrees. It supports auto tracking and can automatically follow a moving person detected on camera. These movements are also  easily controlled through the SpotCam app or website. With an additional subscription, you can unlock both AI-driven video analysis services like facial recognition, fall detection, or creating a virtual fence, and also the choice to retain recorded video in the cloud for either 3, 7, or 30 days (depending on which subscription plan you chose).

Both cameras are smart home ready, and can be integrated into platforms including Amazon Alexa, Google Home, IFTTT and Conrad Connect.
