What is Audience Choice?
Audience Choice program is your opportunity to become a speaker at Disrupt. We review all the applications, and select the finalists who will move on to our Audience Choice round – where TechCrunch readers and your followers vote for the top sessions they want to see at Disrupt. We will select the top roundtables and the top breakout sessions with the most votes to speak at this year’s show.
What’s a Breakout Session?
Up to 4 people (including moderator) lead a 30-minute presentation followed by a 20-minutes Q&A from an audience of up to 100 attendees. You will be able to display a presentation and have limited AV capabilities. You’ll present one breakout during Disrupt.
What’s a Roundtable Session?
One person leads a 30-minute interactive conversation for an audience of up to 40 attendees. There is no AV – it’s all about organic conversation. You may potentially repeat this roundtable up to two times during Disrupt.
What do I need to apply?
We recommend you review the application before applying, but prepare the following ahead of time:
- Session Title (max 100 characters, including spaces)
- Session Description (max 650 characters including spaces)
- 1 high-res, color, headshot of the speaker (shoulders and above)
- If hosting a breakout session, decide if you’re going to have any co-hosts/moderator (up to 4 people on stage total)
Can I apply for both?
- Yes, you can apply for both using just 1 application
- You can choose to create two unique session abstracts or use the same abstract
What’s the Application Timeline?
- Applications Open: February 20, 2024
- Applications Close: April 26, 2024
- Applicants Notified: May 3, 2024
- Voting: May 13 – May 24, 2024
- Winners Announced: May 27
How many finalists will be picked?
We will pick 10 roundtable finalists and 10 breakout session finalists.

How can I apply to speak on one of the main stages?
We do not collect applications for any of our main stages.
Do you pay speakers/does TechCrunch cover any expenses?
We do not pay speakers, and we do not cover any expenses incurred by the speaker to participate in the event (hotel, travel, food, visa, etc.)
If I am a speaker, can I attend the show?
Yes, as a speaker you will have a speaker pass to enjoy all 3 days of the event
Can I bring a guest?
Yes, all speakers can bring up to two guests.
Will I be promoted/featured on the Disrupt 2024 website as a speaker?
Yes, you will be promoted on the Disrupt 2024 website as a speaker.
