This year the hackathon will take place simultaneously during the Disrupt conference in a dedicated section of the Moscone conference center. All hackers will receive Expo Only passes that are valid for Wednesday, October 2 and Thursday, October 3 while the hacking and judging are taking place. On Friday, October 4, the hackers will get upgraded to Innovator Pass access level to enjoy the final day of Disrupt SF.
We are capping the number of hacking participants to 800 – apply today if you would like to be one of those 800. Once we reach that cap, there will be a wait list and you will be notified if any spots open up. As per past hackathons, it’s completely FREE to hack at our event.
Over the course of approximately 24 hours, each hack team will ideate, create and submit their products and directly afterwards, the sponsor judges and official TechCrunch judges will go around to each team for a demo of each creation. From this, our top 10 finalists will be selected to demo the following day on the Extra Crunch stage at Disrupt Sf
On the final day of the conference, everyone is invited to watch the 10 finalists present their project in a 2-minute pitch and then we’ll announce the top hack will receive the $10,000 grand prize money.
