First round of Disrupt NY Hackathon tickets now available

The wait is over, Hackathon fans. Today, we’re thrilled to release the first wave of tickets to the Hackathon at Disrupt NY 2016, and you can secure your spot by grabbing a ticket here. The Hackathon takes place May 7-8 at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, and you’re definitely going to want to be there.

The Hackathon kicks off at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 7, with networking and the formation of the Hackathon teams. On Sunday, after a grueling 20-plus hours of hacking and coding, teams will have just 60 seconds to present their projects to a panel of judges on the Disrupt stage.

In addition to the satisfaction of building something awesome, those teams have the opportunity to score tickets to the Disrupt show, a $5,000 grand prize and several gadgets, toys and other monetary prizes from our sponsors.

All teams who earn a score of three or higher will win two free tickets to the main Disrupt conference on May 9-11, where they’ll get to attend the interviews and fireside chats with our incredible lineup of speakers, check out all of the startups on display in Startup and Hardware Alley, take in the Startup Battlefield competition, and hobnob with conference attendees at all of the parties and afterparties.

The Hackathon is a great place for both hardware and software companies — software company QuickActions won the Hackathon at Disrupt SF 2015, and hardware company Shower With Friends won the event at Disrupt SF in 2014.

And it isn’t just small projects that do well at the Hackathon. You could very well build the next big thing in just 24 hours. GroupMe, for example, was launched out of the first Disrupt NY Hackathon, and went on to get acquired by Skype for $80 million.

So, be sure to bring whatever great ideas you have and spend a fun-filled weekend helping bring your ideas closer to reality.

We can’t wait to see what you come up with, but you’ll have to get a ticket to participate, so be sure to secure your spot at the Hackathon here.
