Move Guides, the London and San Francisco startup that offers ‘talent mobility’ software in the cloud to help companies manage the relocation of their employees, has closed $15.6 million in Series B funding.
We’ve previously described the startup as classic Software-as-a-Service enterprise play. Its platform aims to disrupt incumbents, such as Cartus and SIRVA, for companies who would normally outsource their employee relocation needs, as well as being suitable for those who run their talent mobility programs in-house.
Dubbed Talent Mobility Cloud, Move Guides’ cloud-based solution brings together companies, employees and global vendors (shipping, real estate, immigration, tax and more) all into a single platform, helping to solve an increasing pain-point for HR departments in which more and more employees are becoming mobile, thus requiring the moving of talent around the world for new jobs, relocations, projects and “expatriate assignments”.
The claimed pay-off is ultimately saving money — Move Guides reckons companies using its platform reduce total costs by up to 10 per cent versus using a traditional relocation management company — in addition to improving employee experience.
To that end, the startup — which has offices in San Francisco, London, New York and Hong Kong, with a global network of more than 1,000 vendor partners — says it will use the new capital for further global expansion out of San Francisco. It also plans to release new products.
Related to this, Move Guides has appointed technology executive Jim Drill as its President. He’ll be based in San Francisco.
