UK-based Admedo has acquired Dispop, an online display advertising and retargeting specialist in New York. Terms were not disclosed. The move means Admedo can expand its business the US, which enables advertisers and agencies to manage their ‘programmatic advertising’ in-house instead of using third parties.
Programmatic advertising is on something of a roll, and is said to be worth $53bn by 2018 according to Magna Global. Other players in this space include Pubmatic, Rubicon, Appnexus, Mediamath and of course Google and Facebook.
Dispop had previously raised $725,000 in funding from Inimiti and Wekix VC. Amedo has had $2.5M in funding to date from investors including Kima Ventures, Encore Capital, Playfair Capital, Midven and and Sussex Place Ventures.
