You’re a medium to large-sized business using a clunky old corporate intranet. Meanwhile your staff are using Facebook and Pinterest at home and in their daily lives. You’re not going to exactly excite them when they get to work are you?
Enter seed-backed BuzzTale. After testing out their platform as a content marketing platform for public events, they’ve found the gap in enterprises that are struggling to catch up with the visual and engaging communications people are used to, especially the younger generation. It’s certainly more interesting than using Podio or Yammer or Convo.
The startup has now won its first major partner, Nordic telco Tele2, which is trialling BuzzTale for internal comms.
Andris Berzins, CEO and founder of the Latvia-based startup, calls it an Enterprise Story Network – a flashy way of saying it’s like a Pinterest for the enterprise.
“Enterprises need to build a stronger corporate culture,” he tells me. “This is a real-time storytelling tool that enables businesses to create, curate and share internal stories. Those all-hands meetings, social events, team-building off-sites and more that make up the fabric of a cohesive company. Really, we are competing with corporate intranets currently producing manual content.”
Personally I think this is going to work better for SMEs currently using a closed Facebook group but worried about spilling over. But we’ll see.
