Designer Christoph Niemann hates cables as much as the rest of us, but he has the skill to creatively describe his disgust. Summarizing the obvious problems and flawed solutions he gives us an overview of the cable misery with a clever pictorial storyboard.
He is right though; if I plug my guitar into my audio interface, plug the interface to the macbook, plug in the external drive, the speakers, the 25″ screen, the midi controller, the keyboard…well my recording room is already a mess. But wireless is just so expensive and flawed that it doesn’t justify the freedom. So as it stands right now, wires are just a necessary evil bent on cluttering up our lives. At least Christoph Niemann has a sense of humor about it.
